You Say Hello
YOU SAY HELLO - directed by Lovell Holder, written by Daniel Talbott; starring Chris Bellant, Will Pullen, Samantha Soule and Wendy Vanden Heuvel
A young man contemplates suicide until a chance encounter with a hustler compels him to reconsider.
One of the greatest gifts I have received from programming LGBTQ films for Oxford Film Festival is meeting the filmmakers, both in person and virtually, who make the films I have the pleasure of bringing to our audiences. From these connections I have developed some wonderful friendships, had great conversations about my own dreams, our futures and the future of independent cinema. I even recently was able to moderate a Q&A for the Los Angeles release of “Dramarama!” More of that please, universe!
One of those filmmakers is Daniel Talbott, who I met many moons ago when I brought the film he wrote and produced, “You Say Hello,” directed by Oxford alum, Lovell Holder to Oxford.
Last week or so I had brunch with Daniel at House of Pies in my neighborhood followed by a trip to the cottages where Diane Selwyn met her fate in David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, a mere minutes from my home in Los Feliz.
During that excursion, Daniel told me that “You Say Hello” was playing on Here TV, which gave me so much joy. I love seeing the films that play at Oxford finding their way to a broader audience, and I offered to share that news will my readers.
If you have access to HERE TV, I hope you will check this out.
