Did I ever tell you the story of how I coerced my parents at 9 years old to let me/them rent the VHS of “A Nightmare on Elm St” from the Piggly Wiggly?

Needless to say, at 9 years old I was so shocked by Tina’s death that I don’t remember moving or blinking until it was over. I certainly could not sleep, and yet, a horror fan was born. I wanted to be Nancy…and sometimes still hope for that opportunity.

When Scream came out, my besties at University all made a pact to come up with a reason we had to get back to our college town so we could see that film together, on opening weekend, before word of mouth hit. All because of Wes.
